Massage - Carly Davis and Amanda Kihn
Massage treatments can be very beneficial for managing stress and anxiety, reducing muscle tension, and supporting your body through the unique changes that are happening throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Come and enjoy a relaxing, pampering, soothing massage, lying on our special Pregnancy Pillows. It's such a relief to be able to lie on your tummy, even for a short while! Of course, the options of lying on your side or your back are also available.
Carly Davis has completed the course at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy here in Victoria, BC, where she has learned from the beloved Amie McColl. She will be writing her licensure exams this September.
Carly has a special interest in pre- and post-natal massage and is passionate about helping her clients achieve a sense of balance and harmony within their bodies and lives. She is excited to be offering restorative treatments that are relaxation-focused and tailored to each individual’s needs.
Carly is available on Thursdays at Mothering Touch.
Amanda Kihn has a diploma from West Coast College of Massage Therapy and will be challenging registration board examinations in September and October. She also completed Mothering Touch’s DONA-approved Birth Doula Workshop and Prenatal classes. A self-proclaimed baby-whisperer, this mother of two small children delights in caring for other mothers and their babies.
Here’s a testimonial from a client of WCCMT that Amanda cared for 6-months before and after her first baby was born:
“Amanda’s treatment style is incredibly connected to what my body needs. She is an amazing communicator who always asks the right questions to ensure the most efficient and accurate treatment. After a massage with Amanda, my stress level is significantly reduced, and I always leave feeling rejuvenated and well cared for.” -HG
MD says, “I met Amanda 3 weeks before my due date. I had no idea how my fiery temper would treat us during labour, but we quickly established a trustful relationship. On the big day, her intuition was spot on. She found her place, and everything I needed her to do and beyond, with the best timing. I’m looking forward to seeing her once she’s a Registered Massage Therapist.”
Amanda is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, starting in September 2018 here at Mothering Touch.
Both Amanda and Carly are not yet registered, their rates are lower than those of Registered Massage Therapists, and fees cannot be claimed on medical insurance plans. Treatments are nonetheless relaxing and invigorating!
