Prenatal Yoga – Space in Body & Mind

Prenatal Yoga
Sunday – 10:30am – Clarissa

Each prenatal yoga class is unique, and informed by the check-in at the beginning of class. Usually this is hatha style, with gentle slow flows and some restorative asana sprinkled in. This class aims to build community and provide a safe and appropriate practice for the entire length of your pregnancy. Class begins with a thorough warm up that will release the spine, shoulders and hips and then move into a purposeful sequence to specifically strengthen and mobilize the joints. The teacher will often weave in information about how some postures and breathe techniques can have practical applications for side-effects of pregnancy such as anxiety, insomnia, heart burn. Class will close with a couple of longer more restorative stretches with blocks and bolsters to integrate and conclude practice. This class is suitable for all levels of experience with clear alignment instruction and a slow gentle pace.
