Prenatal Yoga - Space in Body & Mind

Each prenatal yoga class is unique, and informed by the check-in at the beginning of class. Usually this is hatha style, with gentle slow flows and some restorative asana sprinkled in. This class aims to build community and provide a safe and appropriate practice for the entire length of your pregnancy. Class begins with a thorough warm up that will release the spine, shoulders and hips and then move into a purposeful sequence to specifically strengthen and mobilize the joints. Our teachers will often weave in information about how some postures and breathe techniques can have practical applications for side-effects of pregnancy such as anxiety, insomnia, heart burn. Class will close with a couple of longer more restorative stretches with blocks and bolsters to integrate and conclude practice.

This class is suitable for all levels of experience with clear alignment instruction and a slow gentle pace. Many  props are used to ensure comfort and ease of mobility for any stage of pregnancy.

Prenatal Yoga for Strength

Tuesday - 5:15pm - Clarissa
If you like your yoga class to work you a little hard, and leave you a little sweaty, this class is for you! This class focuses on strengthening poses and dynamic movement, to help you experience the power of your pregnant body. You will work hard, knowing that your instructor is keeping the practice safe and appropriate for the entire length of your pregnancy. Our teachers are experienced birth doulas, who will often incorporate information about how positions and breath can support you through pregnancy, birthing and the postpartum period.

Prenatal Flow

Fridays at 10:15am - Gaby

We harness the morning energy to start the day off right! Building tools for a successful pregnancy, birth and beyond, we will focus on gentle strength building, breath work and flowing movement. This class aims to build community and provide a safe and appropriate practice for the entire length of your pregnancy. Our teachers are experienced birth doulas, who will often weave in information about how some postures and breathe techniques can have practical applications for anxiety, insomnia, heart burn as well as in labour and in birth.

Prenatal Yoga Body in Balance

Thursday - 5:15pm - Sadie
Bringing mindfulness and balance to the pregnant body.  This class focuses on gentle stretches, breath work and dynamic movement. You’ll nourish yourself and put together your toolkit for success in labour, birth and beyond. This class aims to build community and provide a safe and appropriate practice for the entire length of your pregnancy. Our teachers are experienced birth doulas, who will often weave in information about how some postures and breathe techniques can have practical applications for anxiety, insomnia, heart burn as well as in labour and in birth.

 

 

Drop-In Details

For times and days, go to our Drop-In Yoga, Fitness and Activity Classes list.

Our Drop-In Classes are $16 each, or $13 if you buy a punch card of 10 classes. Punch cards never expire, so you can use the classes left over from your pregnancy for parent-baby classes. Punch cards are non-refundable, but fully transferable, so you can gift or sell your left-over classes to someone else if you need to.
