Prenatal Yoga - Space in Body & Mind

While we gradually reopen our world after the COVID quarantine, we will be offering Prenatal Yoga outdoors. Meet at the corner of Eberts and Bushby (in Fairfield). Bring your own mat.

Each prenatal yoga class is unique, and informed by the check-in at the beginning of class. Usually this is hatha style, with gentle slow flows and some restorative asana sprinkled in. This class aims to build community and provide a safe and appropriate practice for the entire length of your pregnancy. Class begins with a thorough warm up that will release the spine, shoulders and hips and then move into a purposeful sequence to specifically strengthen and mobilize the joints. Our teachers will often weave in information about how some postures and breathe techniques can have practical applications for side-effects of pregnancy such as anxiety, insomnia, heart burn. Class will close with a couple of longer more restorative stretches with blocks and bolsters to integrate and conclude practice.

This class is suitable for all levels of experience with clear alignment instruction and a slow gentle pace.

Prenatal Yoga for Strength

If you like your yoga class to work you a little hard, and leave you a little sweaty, this class is for you! This class focuses on strengthening poses and dynamic movement, to help you experience the power of your pregnant body. You will work hard, knowing that your instructor is keeping the practice safe and appropriate for the entire length of your pregnancy. Our teachers are experienced birth doulas, who will often incorporate information about how positions and breath can support you through pregnancy, birthing and the postpartum period.

 

 

Drop-In Details

Our Drop-In Classes are $16 each, or $13 if you buy a punch card of 10 classes.

At the Class, the intructor will ask you to fill out and sign a waiver. If you have a punchcard on file with us, we will debit that card the next day. If you do not have a punch card, we will give you an email address to which you can send an etransfer immediately after the class.

Punch Card Policy: Punch cards never expire, so you can use the classes left over from your pregnancy for parent-baby classes. Punch cards are non-refundable, but fully transferable, so you can gift or sell your left-over classes to someone else if you need to.
