We have put together a simple doula package below based on feedback from our clients, but we are very flexible and welcome special requests and requirments. Please contact us for more information. Our package includes:
One Free Consultation
Our first meeting does not obligate you to use our services; this is simply an opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your needs and wishes.
Two Prenatal Visits
There will be two more meetings with your doula before your due date. The doula will want to become familiar with your preferences regarding management options and the use of pain medications. She also wants to know your own best ways of coping with pain and fatigue and how you and your partner foresee working together.
Unlimited Phone Contact
Once you have engaged your doula you may call anytime you have any concern, during your pregnancy, once your labour has started and for six weeks after the birth of your baby.
A Back-Up Doula
Your doula will inform you of times when she is unavailable for labour support. To cover those times (to the fullest extent possible), she will arrange one or more experienced back-up doulas. If you would like to meet the backup, we can arrange that.
Support Throughout Labour
Your doula will come to you in labour whenever you feel the need of her help. If you decide to go to the hospital (in consultation with your caregiver), she will come with you. Except for extraordinary circumstances, your doula or her back-up will remain with you throughout the labour and birth. She usually remains with you for one or two hours after birth, until you are comfortable and your family is ready for some quiet time together.
Two Postpartum Visits
Your doula will make two post-partum visits to your home in the first two weeks of your baby's life. At that time she can help with breastfeeding and baby care.
A Birth Story
Two or three weeks after the birth your doula will make a good-bye visit and deliver your baby's birth story, which she writes based on the notes taken during the labour.

The fee for the Doula Services Package is $650 - this includes a $200 non-refundable retainer. We are very flexible about the payment of fees and are happy to negotiate a payment plan that will suit your needs. Please do not let money issues interfere with inquiring about getting a doula.
