About Our Logo

We designed the Mothering Touch logo based on an ancient textile design which is a symbol of birth and fertility.  The little X at the centre is the baby. The horns around the outside are seen by some as symbols of male fertility (the ram’s horns) and by others as symbols of female fertility (Fallopian tubes?).  And the circle around the outside, which we put into our new design is meant to symbolize our world, but also the inner universe – the uterus.

Below you can see the antique Asian textile (courtesy of the collection of Max Allen of Toronto, Ontario) we based our logo on. The next picture is the logo Eva designed back in 2004. Last is our current logo as redesigned by Catherine Trembath in 2008.
